Generating Design through digital process.

Task I “ Panels and Waffle “
Task II “ Solid and Void “

This module has two tasks.

First task was to parametrically generate a waffle structure and design panels laid on it.

Second task was to parametrically design an object which to be used as the “void” to Boolean difference the solid box.

For the first task, I continued the study of perforation. To test the rhythmic arrangement of the patterns. I used cull pattern in Grasshopper and paneling tool to apply multiple panels onto the surface. On one surface I tested the complexity of faces on affecting perforation. On the other surface I tested the contrast made by monolithic panels and perforated panels.

For the second task, I designed parametrically a system/ structure through the growth of one module. Later I figured that it was a manual simulation of cellular automata. To generate a more dynamic look I introduced trigonometry function graphs as graph mapper in my script, for they have the periodic phenomenon.

The fabrication processes involve laser cutting and 3D printing.

Task 1 is fabricated using laser cutting. The materials being used is white ivory card and 1mm mountboard.

Task 2 was fabricated using 3D printing. The materials being used is white PLA.
