Individual work | semester 2, 2019

Client: An Old Artistic Couple
This project focuses on an interior render which reinforced scenes developed in module1: A Digital Still Life.
Among three selected group of clients, I chose An Old Artisitc Couple as my client, and curated a narrative through that still render. From the image above, a narrative about a loaded Asian couple, who have been influenced by Western Culture as they grew up, tried to earn a spot among world art collectors was built up.
Through this project, I got to explore skills and grown familiar with 3dsMax and Vray. I learned how to import and manage Internet assets. Besides techniques in terms of adjusting texture, setting up lights and composing image, this project emphasized on the process of constructing narrative and lively characters.

The mix of Western and Eastern style furniture and accessories are juxtapositioned to imply the tension the couple had with their culture and marriage. The guide lines are extended to the room in the left background, creating spatial depth. The general tone were kept close in the foreground to better showcase a wall of collection in the background.
